"Ayoko naman na mawala yung idealism mo. Just be faithful lang sa role mo sa office, disseminate information, serve the people, who knows, you’ll be touching the life ng susunod na catalyst of change sa kung saan man through your writing. Then you can say na yung work mo eh worth it.” -Kenneth Santos
Hart hart, the joy of being mentored~
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7, NLT).
God’s desire is that we continually progress, that we reach higher heights and go to new levels. Oftentimes, as soon as we make the decision to step out in faith and obey God, the enemy brings in fear to try to stop us. He’ll bring thoughts like, “What if you fail? What are other people going to think? You don’t have what it takes.” He’ll do his best to use fear to try to convince us to shrink back and stay where we are.
The Bible says that fear is a spirit. It plays on our emotions and holds us back. But the good news is that we have power over fear! The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear. When we receive God’s perfect love, we will have confidence about the future because we know His plans are for our good. I’ve heard it said that fear is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Understand that fear is a lie. Today, choose to believe God’s Word and receive His love so that you can overcome fear and move forward into the good life He has prepared for you!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for taking me to new levels. I know You have equipped me with a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Thank You for Your confidence as I renounce fear and press forward in victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In the book of James, the Bible tells us that we should wait for God’s promises like a farmer waits for his harvest. Now, I’ve never seen a farmer plant a crop and then worry night and day about whether or not it’s going to come up. He doesn’t lose sleep thinking, “Oh, I hope that my corn is going to take root. Please, God, let my corn bring a harvest.” No, he waits with confidence, knowing that the harvest will come. He does his part, and he knows that seed will produce a good crop.
In the same way, we should wait confidently for the promises of God. We have to stand firm on His Word. It’s not enough to just hope that your situation is going to turn around. Instead of the attitude, “I hope I get well,” have the attitude of confidence and say, “Thank You, Lord, that I am getting well.” Start waiting like the farmer. Wait with a knowing. Wait with confidence. Be sure that as you put God’s Word into practice, just like the farmer, you will see that harvest of blessing in your own life in return.
Slowing down doesn’t mean you are not making any progress.
As cliche goes, slowly but surely.
Sometimes (or most of the times) we are eaten up by our desire to get the results with just a snap of a finger.
There might be things that can be changed overnight. But growth, in its essence, requires time.
Do not be too hard on yourself. You might not see it but you are making significant development.
You may see it as small steps but really, that’s progress.
Keep it up! Your journey is not meaningless. Every circumstance is preparing you for something great. :)
Hello, it took me ages to post ageyn. Hehe
I’m supporting Every Nation Music’s debut EP “One” on April 23. Downloading, reviewing, and spreading the word! http://thndr.it/1l4euaU
Masaya noong una, I felt like I was living my purpose. Gusto ko rin naman gamitin kung ano ang ibinigay sa akin ng Panginoon. Pero you would just feel it kapag may hindi na okay eh. I then realized na what I pursue and put my time and effort on ay hindi na si God. Naging devoted ako sa mga bagay na pwede kong gawin para sa Kanya kaysa sa maging devoted muna ako mismo sa Kanya.
Truth be told I was losing my passion to seek Him more sa QT and the hunger for His Word. Naging “lukewarm” ako sa mga nagdaang araw.
I am just grateful He never fails to remind us of His unending love. Kahapon as I was listening to worship songs habang nakasakay sa tren papunta sa school, di ko talaga napigilan lumuha. I didn’t mind the people sitting next to me, I was just in awe sa love ni God through sa mga songs. Nasabi ko talaga na, “Nakakaasar ka God! Hindi kita pinupursue pero patuloy mo pa rin akong minamahal.” His love surpasses all the things that we did, we are doing, and what we are about to do. Kahit na we’re faithless, andyan pa rin Siya. This love will just compel us para mas lumapit pa lalo sa Kanya. <3 <3
Our God is so loving, so merciful, so faithful. Even when we become too discouraged to believe, God does not forget what He promised. Maybe you feel discouraged today. Maybe your life hasn’t turned out the way you had hoped. Maybe you prayed, believed and worked hard, and it didn’t work out. Now you’re thinking, “Hey, I’m never going to be happy again. I’ll never be married. I’ll never accomplish my dreams.”
Remember today, not only does God remember you, He remembers the promise He placed within you. He knows what He’s destined you to do. You may have already said, “Forget it; it’s never going to happen.” The good news is that you don’t have the final say. God has the final say, and He says, “What I started in your life, I’m going to finish.” That dream you gave up on, God didn’t give up on. He remembers you, and He is with you, leading you and guiding you to the place of victory.
